Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a whole range of techniques that’s sole purpose is to reach the deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It can help to alleviate pain and discomfort in chronically painful areas (such as with a stiff neck, low back pain, an aching hamstring, or sore shoulders).

Most massage therapists incorporate some sort of deep pressure when doing the various deep tissue techniques. Unfortunately, many massage therapists feel that this pressure should only be delivered at one level – HARD! This has resulted in many clients getting deep tissue then never wanting to get a deep tissue massage again.  How Are We Different?

Levels of Deep Tissue

We incorporate various levels of deep tissue and only go as deep as needed or as deep as the client can tolerate AT THE TIME. Why do I say that? Because, clients may be able to tolerate a lot of deep tissue in the lower back one day but not the next.

We Check In With Our Clients

As we are working on you, we will check to make sure that you are comfortable. Please understand that with deep tissue, you may feel some discomfort when we are working on you. That is normal. What is NOT normal is you feeling like you are dying. It is simply not necessary to inflict pain on a client in order to effect great change that will bring a client relief.

We Use Hot Stones For Soothing Comfort

Our hot stone therapy is second to none. We work with the warmed stones to ENHANCE your massage session. This really makes any deeper work just feel so much better. It makes the whole session much more enjoyable.

We Mix Deeper Work with Swedish Massage

The majority of our sessions are a combination of deep tissue and various other techniques including Swedish Massage. We do this because most clients are stressed in addition to experiencing pain and discomfort. This way, our clients get the best of both worlds.
